70-12: Thermal Performance Evaluation of The Natural Draft Cooling Tower

A number of test codes have been written for conventional mechanical draft cooling towers. The natural draft design, however, is fairly new in this country, and USA test procedures for this type are not considered adequate. Within the next few years this gap should be closed by CTI and ASME, now working on the up-dating of the test codes ATP-105, \”Acceptance Test Procedure for Industrial Water Cooling Towers,\” and PTC-23, \”Atmospheric Water-Cooling Equipment.\” The up-dating plans include the development of adequate information on the testing and evaluation of natural draft tower.
